Meet Bobby Wilson, Democratic City Councilman

Councilman Bobby Wilson is a fifth-generation Northsider who is proud to be raising his family in a community that has given him so much. In 2020, he was elected to represent District 1, which includes the Northside, the Strip, and Downtown Pittsburgh, in the City Council.

During his first term, Bobby has produced great results for District 1 – and Pittsburgh as a whole. He passed legislation to forgive medical debt for Pittsburghers and protect reproductive freedom, expanded youth access to our city’s parks, and delivered $40 million for investments in the district. Bobby serves as the Chair of the Land Use and Economic Development Committee and as a Director on the Board of the Pittsburgh Parking Authority. From advocating for more equitable development to protecting our air and water to fighting for safer streets to delivering support for working families, Bobby is leading the way to build a better future for all Pittsburghers.

Prior to his election, Bobby worked as a medical researcher for the University of Pittsburgh and volunteered as a board member of the Northside Leadership Conference and president of the Spring Hill Civic League. His family lives on the North Side.
